1Çevresel örneklerde bulunan mikroorganizmaların moleküler analizlerini PCR, klonlama, dizileme kıyaslaması, FISH, DGGE…) gerçekleştirebilirler.
2Mikrobiyal toplulukların anahtar organizmalarını tanılayabilirler ve sayısallandırabilirler
3Farklı moleküler ve mikrobiyolojik analizlerin kuvvetli ve zayıf yönlerini açıklayabilirler
4Mikrobiyal ekolojide rastlanan problemlere moleküler mikrobiyal ekoloji kavramlarını uygulayabilirler

 The "molecular revolution" in microbial ecology; microbial diversity; the rRNA approach  Recent strategies for the molecular identification and quantification of microbes and their activities in nature  Work with gene databases, clone libraries, and genetic fingerprints  Literature and web search for gene probes; probe design/evaluation
